Maintain only 1 bank and 1 credit card. Go to cheaper supermarket (ASDA and TESCO). Get student discount cards (train, bus). Wait for sale seasons for price cut in most of the items especially clothes and shoes. Go to car boot sale if you have transport.

The pound was very high when I arrived in England (£1=FFR12), that's I spent more. Moreover, the food and accommodations are more expensive in England than France, especially if sometimes you want to eat French food!!

If you are wsedish remember to make certain the money draft your bank makes for you is valid in the UK. For some reson NatWest refused to accept a bankdraft from one of the major swedish banks.

Telephone, accomodation and travelling are quite obvious: i don't use to make very often in Spain internatioanl phonecalls (just from time to time), accomodation i live still with my parents and travelling as well.
