Sheffield has plenty of nightclubs and bars, you just need to walk downtown on one of the main streets and drop in a place that looks appealing to you. I liked a place called the Swim-Inn, if I remember correctly. Besides off-campus spots, there are a few nice places on campus as well. And not to forget, all those theme-parties thrown by the Students' Union! The Union also arranges parties with all different kinds of music genres. The Union is good at spreading the word, so you will be sure to find the right happening for you. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

there were several good night clubs, of which my favourite place was roxy, especially the students' night on wednesdays. pulse'n'vogue was quite impressive, uropa was pretty fine although small, and republic had some nice parties as well. also the theme parties at the uni were cool. the best pubs were in broomhill (i can't remember the names..) where i lived. as for shopping, you could find everything you needed in meadowhall shopping centre. Go down West Street and you will find the best pubs in town. Although Casablanca and Fitzooth and Firkin are my favorites, do try West End. Don't miss all the bus tours arranged by the International Office in the Union Building. Amazing!! There is so much to do. Try all the clubs, especially Leadmill on Monday. Very good students union with clubnights; cinema; salsa on sunday. Trips to UK cities organised. Pick and choose activities (Give it a Go). Plenty of sports societies. University sports centre. International student activities. Everybody who likes loud clubs and discos. As this is not my favourite way of spending my time in the evning, I was not very happy about nightlife in Sheffield. Restaurants are very expensive, almost unaffordable, and something else hardly exists. "The old grindstone" has jazz music live every Monday from 9.00 pm on. Very nice!
