When you are there, you have to go Peak District. Don't miss the social clubs. If you have any questions you can always asked in the Union. Also the people living in Sheffield are very helpful. Read Review

University of Sheffield review by Heidi

Review by Heidi, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark

HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because it is a good way of getting to know other people. We were 6 different nationalities, studying in 6 different fields.
Personal comments:
Sheffield is a city with a majority of students. Therefore it can be hard to find accommodation when you are only a visitor. So, knowing that your host university helps you finding accommodation by offering you different options is very advantagous.

KEY:
Amazing! Hardly had time to study.
Plenty to do when I had the time.
So-so.
Did not get involved.
Nightlife
Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Go down West Street and you will find the best pubs in town. Although Casablanca and Fitzooth and Firkin are my favorites, do try West End. Don't miss all the bus tours arranged by the International Office in the Union Building. And if you require further information, please don't hesitate to contact me, Heidi. hean96ae@usa.net

Be aware that it can be a different way of studying than what you are used to. Also, when you've made your final choice, it is possible to change it within 3 weeks or so. Always check with your teacher. He/She must sign you final choice so you can be registered.
