HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: House within Halls of Residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose:
Why?
Personal comments:
Lived in Senior Annexe of Stephenson Hall in Broomhill-beautiful neighborhood, walking distance to lectures. Rooms in older buildings are much larger than in modern buildings. Paid same amount for room 3x as large. Single rooms with sinks. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Lots of group work-good oppty to get to known British students. Based on writing and critical analysis; must engage genuinely with subjects
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Some courses assessed 100% by one exam. Past exam questions are almost identical and may be obtained legitimately. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
Some local Yorshire accents difficult; British accents generally difficult at first; many international students learning English-speak clearer and slower than usual-some are more used to British accents than American accents. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
Family Personal savings Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Less dining opportunities in Sheffield and cheap food (sandwiches, fish/chips). Food, Travel: was more expensive than at home. Overall, Telephone, Housing: was the same price as at home. Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
After 6 months in European resident, you may buy a Interrail pass to travel during Spring Vacation, cheaper than Eurail. Periodic cheap flights, ie 39 pounds from London to Ireland. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Don't bring too much. There's a sort of 99cents store for linens and things. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
If you like a medium sized green-leafed town relaxed feeling. Not for those looking for a very urban experience. I loved Sheffield. No tourists and very homely. FINAL COMMENTS
Bring a portable mini-radio for travels to hear local music. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
