Diiva, nice but small club atmosphere Night Train, larger dance place with techno music Best parties organised by student organisation of BOOMI, check their website www.boomi.org! Lots of travel is being organised by them as well. Don't miss Hameenkatu Approbatur in December, largest student event in Finland!

Closer to the University of Tampere and city centre, now -modern- appartment was located in Hervanta. (20min by bus)

Almost all speak English fluently, don't really need to study Finnish but it is appreciated if you do so.

Invest time in the Finnish students, if you do so they become excellent friends after a few weeks or so.

Very nice place, lots of different courses on all possible topics. Students are perhaps a little introvert, but considered the number of organised activities you'll get to know them as well.

Final comments

Very nice country, try to go from November, less rain and more snow. Even better is starting in January, more day time light and people tend to cheer up as well. Get to know your fellow Finnish students! Don't remain in between students of your own nationality.
