HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why? Would be mcuh easier to integrate with Finns.
Personal comments:
The houseing was of a good standard. Method of payment and deposit return was difficult.Very bureaucratic and not very informative.Neighbours can be difficult. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Cafe Europa is where the international students go. There are numerous cafes in town and they are pretty good to escape the cold. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
It is up to you to signup for courses so watch the relevant notice boards, nobody is going to organise things for you.IT's good to try somehting different and courses are in blocks so that facilitates travelling.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Some lecturers didn't acknowledge the diverese student nationalities...this is a shame especially in political science. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Other sources of funding:
Government assistance Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work Personal spending habits:
Cost werer usually on par with Ireland i.e pretty expensive. Phonecalls were costly and I never turned down the chance to travel.I don't regret the money spent on that. Travel, Overall, Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife, Housing: was the same price as at home. Food: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
The student union run a houehold utensil leading scheme that many people use. I bought all my stuff and kettle, etc in a second hand market for very little.Ask locals where they are. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I had read up on the country and culture alot, I was prepared and it paid off. In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
ITs all about the location, totally mind blowing geography and I felt much further away from home than I was. IT's a brillant base for travel. A real change from Europe. FINAL COMMENTS
I got to Finland in the autumn and I caught the end of the summer weather , it was goo dot see the season progress into the snow and darkness. I did miss sunshine but I hope to go back and see spring and have a long summer there sometime. If you are assigned a tutor, try to get on...they are wonderful help and are, Finnish standards, very outgoing.
