Expenses
Main source of funding:
Family
Other sources of funding:
Personal savings
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience
Personal spending habits
Food is much more expensive here than it is in Germany and travel and housing as well. But I have a Young Persons Railcard which gives you up to 30% off all train fares and booking early is a way to ensure you get the cheapest tickets. The yearly (or termly) bus pass that you need when you don't have a car or bike comes with a discount coach card (30% off National Express tickets) but is quite expensive.

Food, Housing, Travel, Overall:
was more expensive than at home.
Telephone, Nightlife:
was the same price as at home.
Accessibility of student needs
Second-hand household items
Personal comments
Household items can often be bought in charity shops .. and glasses and crockery are often fairly cheap at the beginning of term. The supemarket at the university is comparatively cheap as well.

Overall
I wish I had known...
Not really .. I knew someone from Warwick who was in Munich as an Erasmus student the year before I went. Get in touch with these people (or with people from your University who are at the University you are going to) because they will be able to provide useful information!

In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Join clubs and societies .. work at Warwick Arts Centre (you don't get paid much but you can see concerts, films, theatre productions etc. for free!!) and enjoy yourselves. Make an effort to talk to the people in your classes and show that you are interested in meeting them!

During my experience abroad, I ...
(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
Warwick has a strong international community and it is easy to just make friends there because everyone there wants to make friends, maybe because they have also just arrived, but think about whether that is really all you want from your stay abroad! Otherwise ... just enjoy!

Academic
My academic experiences
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with international students
Interaction with local students
Personal comments
It seemed to many of us that in literature essays the fact that we were foreign students whose first language was not English was sometimes hardly taken into consideration. Apart from that .. no problems at all.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I would want to live in the same house because I lived with 24 other students most of who were British and threfore it was easier to make friends.

Personal comments
Generally the Erasmus students are put together in houses of 4 -6 students but I was lucky to live where I did.

Coventry is not a very beautiful place and has not got that many restaurants or nightclubs but there are some nice pubs and in the towns around Coventry (Stratford, Leamington Spa etc) you can find very nice places to eat out or to just go for a drink.
