Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Local supermarkets are generally very expensive in comparison to big inner-city shopping malls. Usually, clothes shops offer discounts for students - watch out for them!

The student accomodation in the UK is really expensive compared to France- also you can't get "allocation" like in France (APL, ALS); The food on the campus was pricy (for what it was) , probably becuse it's not subsidised. So it is better to buy your own and cook it...

I think it's good to open an account in england -it takes an effort, but then you can have a cash card and it will save you a lot of money (withdrawing cash from your home country is very expensive)
