HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why? Campus was fabulous but to get a genuine experience of the Swedish life and culture this option would probably be best although I don't know if I could cope if they gave me a cerfew!!! Campus is an excellant choice other than that.
Personal comments:
It was nice to find my own shower room, I would have hated charing. I loved the fact I had a sauna on the ground floor that I frequently used and generally miss terribly now. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
As I was on campus I did not have to travel much except to the swimming hall which was a short bike ride away. I loved jogging/rollerblading/cycling round the lake when I thought I'd better do some exercise-weather permitting of course! Sivans was a great place to meet friends on a Wednesday night and Stallanas on a Friday. Town nightlife wasn't up to much but flights to Stockholme are cheap and well worth the effort if you like the city life. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Loved this one. Nice and easy and prepared me for my next semester at my home University, I came home to find a lot of the work for my final year already covered in my experience at Vaxjo.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
If English books were more accessible, I should have prepared and brought some with me had I properly known the areas of particular study. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Local language was: Different than language of instruction.
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Was learning Swedish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Swedish How much did you improve your Swedish?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) Personal comments:
Had tuition once a week, but did not put my experience into much practice because the hosts spoke English so well, often beter than myself!! I wish I had practised more now upon reflection and taken it seriously. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Other sources of funding:
Family Personal savings An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
I did a lot more travelling than I do at home. I wanted to take the opportunity to see some of the world! Nightlife was generally more expensive, as was food, although pizza in the campus shop (deliverys done)was cheaper. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall: was more expensive than at home. Housing: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
There is a second hand shop open once a week and if you can be bothered to find it when you first arrive it could save you money on household stuff. Just look around town. Don't expect Ikea to be like the ones at home, I was well suprised when we drew up outside a warehouse with red writing. It works along the same warehouse type principle but is not the cliched yellow and blue-much sadness!!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
How expensive it was and that it would be a healthy experience! In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Take up all the opprtunities available to you, even thought there's so many it might be impossible. You might have to study more than usual if you came from the UK because the drink and nightlife is not everynight and day, so take some extra activities in mind with you when you go. I joined a tai-chi class, swam, cycled, played tennis, started dance. A much healthier me returned!! FINAL COMMENTS
Brilliant experience and I hope to return this summer to visit students I met whilst there. I have also met people from Vaxjo returning to my home university and hopefully given them as much help, friendliness and guidence as the hosts did for me in that great semester I had out there. Thanks Guys! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
