Austrian German may be difficult to understand at the very beginning, it can even be annoying if everyone speaks only in dialect...but then you catch yourself understanding everyone and wondering why the TV German is so correct ;)

Academic
Course recommendations
economics (VWL) is generally not that overcrowded course, with makes the classes more interesting and the atmosphere more familiar than in business administration (BW/IBW)

Personal recommendation
The WU is a good university if you are interested in a particular area and want to enrich your knowledge. If you don't know what you want, you will get by, but it will bring you nothing. However, if you do have plans and career options and are prepared to work hard for it, the WU might indeed be your excellent stepping stone.

Final comments
I completed my undergraduate studies in Economics there and I think it was a great decision for my future. Vienna as a city is lovely, it is just waiting to be explored. Living there as a student is an unforgettable experience, because cultural activities, sports or languages are so many you actually won't have time to do them all!
