HOUSING
by Iveta, Ekonomická Univerzita V Bratislave, Bratislava, Slovakia
Business Studies, CEEPUS
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I lived with other ERASMUS students, attanding the same courses, we became a friends, helping each other to study, doing presentations...improving my language skills, learning new language as they were from Mexico and Germany...very good time...Just the rent was quite expensive compare to the scholarship i have got.
Personal comments:
Housing at this university wasn't so good. Well, was too expensive for me. Even i've got the cheapest one, was really expensive for me.I also had to pay a half of the first month rent to the agancy which provided accommodation for me.Anyway, the agancy just received money and didn't care about anything else.University should care also about foreign students to give them accommodation as cheap as possible and students shouldn't pay extra fees for it.Also,I couldn't see the room i have rented before i arrived. So I agreed for something,I haven't seen because it was the cheapest one. STUDENT LIFE
by emma, University of Greenwich, London, United Kingdom
Economics, Erasmus
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
All the nightlife is centred around the main square (rynek) or the roads leading off it. There are some clubs, but lots and lots of great and unique bars. The old jewish quarters Kazimierz is also a great alternative place to go for a more chilled and funky night out. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
...well, the average level of teaching is not that high... even because many professors are not so skilled when it comes to speak in English...
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Definitely some English training course of the teachers. Students are far better English speaking than the average of them... This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Local language was: Different than language of instruction.
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Was learning the local language a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my knowledge How much did you improve your local language?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
The fact that f.e. landlords, or people in the offices generally didn't speak english i was pushed to speak polish.it wasn't so bad, because i learnt polish very quick.the university offered polish courses for beginners and imediate level as well, what was very helpful.people in shops didn't speak english,so i used or better say i tried to speak polish and it worked out.so i can say, i learn polish in level to get what i want. And also my english improved, as the study was in english and all international students spoken english. Personal comments:
Organising the flat by oneself. Buying clothes at Tandeta market or second hand market (every saturday in hala targowana) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
