My experience
Kacper P
Poland, Undergraduate
Management Science, 2023
Overall
Choosing university is probably one of the most important decisions you get to make as a young adult. After I chose to study at this school, I wasn't really sure what I want to do with my life. Having studied computer science before and not being able to keep up with the coursework I was very anxious that the history my repeat itself . Thankfully It wasn't the case. While CUE isn't a bad place to study, it is also not at the very top of the charts which in my opinion gives an ideal balance between the amount of coursework and time for networking opportunities, gaining job experience or other extracurricular activities. Unfortunately the university is not without its flaws. I found some of the classes to have a very outdated and theory-based curriculum. The school administration is also very hard to reach and there is a lot of soviet-style bureaucracy.

It is really good to know someone who speaks polish, otherwise you will be lost right from the beginning because it is quite impossible to get a flat without speaking the local language.

Cracow University of Economics

Overall
Studying at this university gives a great opportunity to study, get a degree and also focus on your avocation. Lectures are mostly based on literature given at the beginning, it is not hard to catch up. If you’re willing to work additional or maybe start building a business career you may find a lot of time to do it. When you start your UEK’s journey it is good to choose some extra activities like joining a student’s association. There are plenty of them but only a few give real profits as business connections or job opportunities. What is the main advantage of the university? Pancakes with quark and strawberries in Ustronie canteen.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I lived with other ERASMUS students, attanding the same courses, we became a friends, helping each other to study, doing presentations...improving my language skills, learning new language as they were from Mexico and Germany...very good time...Just the rent was quite expensive compare to the scholarship i have got.

Housing at this university wasn't so good. Well, was too expensive for me. Even i've got the cheapest one, was really expensive for me.I also had to pay a half of the first month rent to the agancy which provided accommodation for me.Anyway, the agancy just received money and didn't care about anything else.University should care also about foreign students to give them accommodation as cheap as possible and students shouldn't pay extra fees for it.Also,I couldn't see the room i have rented before i arrived. So I agreed for something,I haven't seen because it was the cheapest one.

Lecturers ready to support their students in gaining skills and learning process. Prof Adam Sagan supported me in my marketing research and others like Prof Andrzej Szromnik had similar attitude to young people.
