I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
Telephone calls were cheaper and the whole billing system differed from Finland. I spent average 60 dollars less money to phone calls in month over U.S. I spent more money to travel, even though the gas was nuts cheap. This is probably becasue I visited and travelled to the places more often that I did in Finland. Overal I spent a litte more money during my stay abroad, this is because of study expenses and higher travel expenses. Travel, Overall: was more expensive than at home. Food, Nightlife, Housing: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
What surprised me most was the check books which are still in use. One still gets paycheck every month and pay the rent, electricity and other utility bills with checks - this seemed kind of oldish for me. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
