It is not so easy to make friends with Asian people on the campus. It requires time and a lot of perseverance. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Go if you want to travel and have fun but don't expect too much of the course, the level is not very high. Though, it is well known in Asia, so it can help you to find a job in the area. FINAL COMMENTS
- Some course require more work than others: ask former student beore chosing. - The travel agencies on Kao san are the cheapest you can find but the busses are sometimes very rusty and smelly. - Best area for shopping is chattuchak market on the week-end. - Do not hesitate to ask other foreigners and locals if you need help or advice. Not really, for it might have spoilt the surprise and innocence of experiencing. The only thing maybe: If you size in shoes is above 14, you will have trouble finding shoes in Thailand. In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.

Personal recommendation:
Academic:Benchmark for Thailand, in some areas maybe even through out Asia. The Asian background of the Institute allows you to meet Asian cultures at one place: all neighbouring countries, plus India, Bangladesh, former SUnion, Philippines, etc. FINAL COMMENTS
If you want to go here, be aware of the different climate, the rather patience demanding culture of "mai pin rai" (don't worry/never mind), and the spicey food, which can be complemented with other dishes. It is a total different culture and you may either like it, or really dislike it. Enjoy and travel the whole country! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

nothing that would have changed my experience here. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.

Personal recommendation:
AIT is a world class academic institution. But it is a pretty boring place to live for two or more years... It is far from LIFE in downtown Bangkok. One thing more, what surprised me, the AIT being a technology institute and all, was the lousy internet connection in the student dorms. Even though I opted for ADSL connection for 450 baht per month the internet was grindingly slow, and sometimes you were not able to access websites like Yahoo at all... This was quite annoying as it is really convenient to be able to surf the net for info in your room. But this was not always a smooth and easy experience, despite the fact I actually paid extra for a faster connection. Frankly, the internet connection speed in the dorms sucked! Many students complained about this. FINAL COMMENTS
The AIT is a good place to study because there is not much else to do! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal recommendation:
AIT aspires to high academic standards. However, facilities, like library (too small) and internet connection in dorms (super slow) leave a lot to wish for. But teachers and courses were good and staff at AIT were friendly and helpful. FINAL COMMENTS
AIT is a good place to study, but a boring place to live! It's quite far from downtown BKK. Staying at AIT is like staying in a park; beautiful environment but gets pretty boring... This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

There's always something surprising when you are visiting a completely different culture, but nothing special to mention. It's of course advisable to gather some information in advance, for example the 'Lonely Planet' is a good investment. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
As the university has a French president, there are several advantages for French students. I think, all students should be treated equally, despite their nationality. FINAL COMMENTS
Thailand as well as the neighbouring countries are worth a stay. Still, as concerns Thailand, you should try to tolerate the annoying sex tourism as you'll get to see Thai women and foreigners almost everywhere. It's also important to accept that most Asian people have a different attitude towards work and are usually rather quiet till they get to know you. Just remember not to lose your patience and stay friendly. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

No, all surpises (good and bad) were rewarding and sometimes challenging. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
The strength of this university is its international flair, which makes it a great place to learn and meet people. FINAL COMMENTS
If you want to discover Asia, Thailand is a very good departure point to discover all the countries around. It is crucial to be prepared, so get good guidebooks and phrase books, such as Lonely Planet. Talk to people and meet locals. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

If I had known how poor the living conditions were (housing, noise on campus) I would not have come to AIT. In my opinion:
Stay home.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Because of the very low quality of accomodation and the incredible and unacceptable almost constant levels of noise(!) on campus from constant maintenance work(!?), hammering, drilling... and noise from sports facilities right outside the dorms, and of course the garbage dump in the middle of student village, I DO NOT recommend anyone to live and study at AIT. There are many other, much nicer and better places to live and study. FINAL COMMENTS
The AIT is not a nice place to live. If you have to, make sure you stay in the J or K dorms, they have aircon and are not quite as noisy as the other dorms, or in a part of the student village that is FAR from the garbage dump! Thailand is a good place travel. The Thai are friendly though they can't speak fluent English. Take sometime to learn Thai language, it could be very helpful to travel around the country. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

There are many other places to study where the living conditions are much nicer. AIT campus was annoyingly noisy. Everyday there seemed to be some noisy repair work going on.... The course was interesting and enjoyed my studies, but the living experience on campus was not comfortable. FINAL COMMENTS
Because of the student accomodation and noise near the student dorms I would recommend people to think twice before studying at AIT. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
