Simply, my home country Tajikistan is located in central Asia, a post-soviet country. Hungary, by contrast, is a new member of EU, and the prices have risen visbly over recent time. Services cost more, and in general standard of living is higher in Hangary than in Tajikistan Food, Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
not really; although make sure you follow all the rules in subway stations (buy new tickets when changing the lines). I did not know that and was fined when I first arrived in Budapest. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Because Budapest is a much more expensive than any city in Romania. But then the stipend I got from CEU was much more than any salary in Romania. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
No financial suprises. A cost-saving tip however would be: don't live in the dorm (on campus). It's much cheaper to rent a flat in the city and you are your own boss. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

At home I did not pay rental fee. Food is more expensive in Budapest. I did not have that much nightlife in Baku. There is no "monthly pass" system in Baku you pay on the spot, therefore more on travel. Food, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home. Travel: was less expensive than at home.

In Macedonia traveling is much cheaper (with train or bus). From Hungary it is much easier to go traveling in the neighboring countries and hence I have spent more. Travel: was more expensive than at home. Food, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Services in Hungary are expencive and not of highest quality therefore, not always worth their price. Avoid unnecessary services (home telefone or TV). This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Food: was the same price as at home. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
