Dublin City University (DCU)
DCU, 9 Dublin, Ireland
Description:
The University is located on a fifty acre campus in the northern suburbs of Dublin. Most of the University's programmes are provided in new, purpose-built buildings designed specifically for their needs, while the University's engineering programmes are currently housed largely in the older buildings on campus, some of which date back to the establishment of the Albert Agricultural College in the last century. The latter have been extensively refurbished and modernised. The campus with its adjoining parks constitutes a pleasant and productive environment for study and research.

The the country has two official languages : English and Irish ! And if you come by plane, try www.ryanair.com. Register for their newsletter, and you will see the most incredible prices ! In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Be aware of the academic fields you study. As for me, business studies was grant. But other fields may not be as great. FINAL COMMENTS
Have a go, go to Ireland. The people are nice, the weather is not that bad (and I did leave on the Mediterranean cost!) No bad surpises in sight. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Nothing important In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
To take more profits from the international students. FINAL COMMENTS
There is nothing really important to tell about. I didn´t have any problems or surprises, the biggest advice is to warn people that Ireland is not the poor country many people think, but it´s a wealthy country where most of the things are really expensive. I have to say, however, that roads, public transport and other facilities must be improved). This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Academicaly it is very good and has all the facilities a student needs. On the other hand social life is hectic and there are plenty of activities to join. FINAL COMMENTS
The first two weeks are tough but it radically changes after that. Enjoy your classes and go out as much as possible. Take good waterproof clothes. Smile! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The campus facilities are really good, students and teachers are really accessible. FINAL COMMENTS
Studying in DCU will allow students to be more independent in terms of study, as they will be left with lots of free time that is supposed to be spent studying. It will be up to the student to keep up with the courses. If you are well organised, you can be up to date and benefit of some free time too, that will enable you to travel around ireland or to other countries in europe, as flying ticktes are really cheap if you buy them in Ryan Air. Personal recommendation:
I really think that it is a great university, so the only thing I can say is that more people should study here. FINAL COMMENTS
As a person who had study abroad for one year now, I can say that studying away from my home and away from my family is the best thing that have ever happened to me. Not only in the academic perspective, but also personally. You learn how live is outside your parents protection, so I fully recommend every to study abroad at least one year. The European program is really good, through sport activities it is really easy to meet new people, foreigners or irish. But in the student environnement it is easier to meet foreigners...mostly in 3rd and 4th years. FINAL COMMENTS
Globally this experience abroad was and is still very useful. It makes people be more mature, you discover such a lot of things, first you become more independent, then you meet a lot of new and very interesting people...well i think i will even try to get a job abroad in UK or even further. Ireland is a nice country. You can travel around easily by car, but mind the narrow roads. Dublin is a developing city. Unfortunately the traffic is horrible and the bus system too. They're currently building a tramnet. The school is nice too, but as mentioned things need their time. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The accomodation on campus is the best option as it is not very expensive and it is just one step far from the faculty and the library.
