Final comments
It's not easy to find an appartment in Lyon for short periods (3 months). People who stayed in Lyon longer than 3 months regret not having the opportuninty of living in downtown for a while, but all agree that living in Le Galion (on campus residence) was the best!

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
If you stay there just one trimester, this is the best way to meet people. I had a car, so there you don't have any trouble to find a parking because is far away from downtown. People who lived in the center, had to take a bus to go to the faculty (it takes around 35 to 45 minutes depending on the traffic)

The good points: the residence for the foreigners (Le Galion) has many activities going on inside. Financial aid from the french government (CAF) Wireless connection. There is a cleaning woman that comes every week The bad points: it could get too loud sometimes, specially if you coincide with a group of libaneses. Some students "lost" some belongings (ask for rooms in the first or second floor not in the ground floor)
