I enjoyed learning some of a completely foreign tongue, and tried to use it, rather than english, where possible. The locals, particularly the older sections of the community appreciated it.

Food, telephone (mobile) and housing were much cheaper. I spent more on nightlife because I went out 4 or 5 times a week, and generally drank more beer (albeit at a cheaper price). I did much more domestic and international travel (a short bus ride as opposed to a long plane ride from Australia).

Be sure to join up with the Erasmus Students Network at TPU...they will be quite welcoming and organise many social events. EBS, however, are a little slack in that department.

Course recommendations
They were extremely basic. In some instances, teaching was very poor. Academic scrutiny did not exist, with many students flagrantly cheating. This occurred in written work, and in exam situations, and was done by both International and local students.
