HOUSING
by Daiva, Espoon - Vantaan Ammattikorkeakoulu, Vantaa, Finland

Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Living on campus was relatively expensive compared with the quality of the rooms and the whole building. Also we had problems with the housing contract termination.
Personal comments:
Overall, it was nice to live on campus, but the building was very old and dirty. The appartments were small with only the minimum furniture. Also most of the housing contracts did not cover the whole semester, so at the end of it we needed to look for some place to live for a couple of days in order to finish our exams. STUDENT LIFE
by Sandra, EVTEK University of Applied Sciences, Vantaa, Finland
Business Studies, University Agreement
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Diemen is situated only 10min with train from center of Amsterdam. Nightlife usually has been spended there. Best bars that you can find are situated in Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein. My fafovrite place to go was in Rembrandtplein called "Chocos". Boom Chicago that is situated in Leidseplein is a show that you really don't want to miss! ACADEMIC
by Daiva, Espoon - Vantaan Ammattikorkeakoulu, Vantaa, Finland

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Course contents and quality are quite good, but the teachers could depend less on the books and put in more of their own experience.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
The grading system is very strange, since we got 5 credits from project work, 5 credits from the final essay examination and 5 credits from the exams of ALL the courses. Eventhough we would have failed even one course exam, we would not get the 5 credits. So it felt that the credit system is not equally distributed. Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
Everyone spoke very good English, which was a bit annoying because I wanted to learn some Dutch! Somethimes it was difficult understanding what exactly lecturers wanted as there descriptoins were sometimes ambiguous. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Sugar momma Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Less for crappy food that seemed to be abundant in adam, more for drinks.... it equals out...go for the EUROSHOPPER BABY Food, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Don't drink every night, if you do, buy euro shopper and get drunk before you go to the clubs. The schoolgirl was a bit more spendy than expected, but I guess she has to do what she has to do. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
wished I had known more about where we were staying and more about the city so I would know where to go, although it was fun discovering In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It takes a very independent, practical rather than theorical approach to education, you learn by doing, which works in ways but also has it's drawbacks. FINAL COMMENTS
Make the most of your experience, travel as much as you can, wrap up warm in the winter as it is very windy in the winter! Find out as much as you can about where you are staying so you know where you need to go to get into uni. Research the nearest cities before you visit too.
