Utilities in France are super expensive. Watch out for EDF and FranceTelecome! But the nightlife, the TGV(train) and the food were very reasonable, even cheaper than in Canada.

Once again, I suggest you apply at CAF for a rent subsidy for students. Phoning long distance with FranceTelecome was too expensive. Look for phone cards. Go to the Market - great food, cheap. And a second hand bike to get around town.

Course recommendations
Just go with the flow. You will be with the same group of students all day - french and international - and do not do the memoire too much and not extremly worth it for an exchange point of view.

We had 11 exams at the end of our first semester. Totally crazy but fun, in a sick way. Take lots of notes!

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
it was a great place for everyone to come over and hang because our apartment was so central and spacious. It really great to live downtown.

We lived in F4 right in fron of the Peyrou. Fabulous. As well, I encourage foreign student to apply for CAF-this service subsidizes your rent. Hard to get but well worth the wait.
