Good Program - BCCB
Alvaro P
Germany, Undergraduate
Biochemistry, 2023
Overall
The course is very well structured, the professors are very knowledgeable and have charisma in their lectures. Last year it was a bit disorganized because of the Corona situation, but it was the same everywhere and I think Jacobs handled it quite well.
Another thing I like about Jacobs and this course in particular is that the classes are quite small, the lecture halls are never crowded, and this allows the professors to communicate and relate closely to the students, often getting to know them on a personal level.
We also have lab sessions and seminars that start much earlier compared to my home country. I feel that this allows every biochemistry and cell biology graduate to pursue all of their goals after graduation, i.e. finding a job or going to graduate school.
The last point is that Jacobs University and this particular program, although small and young, is one of the best in Germany and in the world. Graduates of our program have studied at the most prestigious universities and are considered outstanding professionals in their fields.

REVIEWS BY INTERNS AT Jacobs University Bremen
Very Good Experience
At first I didn't have high hopes because it was not the best time, corona was still around and people were panicking. However, the doctors that mentored me were very professional and I actually learned a lot from it.
ABOUT
Jacobs University Bremen is a private, independent research university. Opened in 2001, it currently offers 20 Graduate programs (Masters/PhD) in the fields of engineering and science, the humanities and social sciences. Jacobs University brings many of the best aspects of American higher education in Europe: the classic bachelor's degree, combining broad exposure to many different intellectual traditions with solid training within a major field of specialization; on-campus living arrangements for undergraduates that will facilitate the inter-relatedness of social with academic life; small classes, ensuring ready access to faculty; hands-on research opportunities for students at both the undergraduate and graduate level; great flexibility in terms of student input into the design of their own academic programs. Research at Jacobs University actively addresses global challenges such as Energy and Environment, Food, Water and Health, Education, Information and Communication as well as Peace and Conflict Management. An international foundation year that prepares international students for their future studies is also provided.
