The Lomonosov Moscow State University is the oldest university of Russia.
Moscow University was founded on 12 (25)th of January 1755 on Saint Tatyana's Day at the decree of the Empress Elizaveta Petrovna on the initiative of the great Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov. The day of Moscow University's foundation is celebrated as the Student's Day in Russia.
The Lomonosov Moscow State University is a self-governing university. Its Statute is worked out and confirmed by the Scientific Council.
Currently there are 22 faculties - of Mechanics and Mathematics, Calculational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, Geography, Soil Science, Fundamental Medicine, History, Philology, Philosophy, Foreign Languages, Economics, Journalism, Law, Psychology, Sociology, Institute of Asian and African Studies, Institute of Public Administration and Social Studies, Higher College of Materials Sciences, Center for International Education.
In the last few years a number of rapidly evolving, quality branches of education have been set up in the University, preparing advanced specialists for trends in Russia and the work today. The result is the most extensive offering of post-graduate and post-doctoral courses in the country.

Go for it folks! The MGU is welcoming, lively, full of events and crowded by international students. Definitely a great place to study in!
