Description:
The Lomonosov Moscow State University is the oldest university of Russia. Moscow University was founded on 12 (25)th of January 1755 on Saint Tatyana's Day at the decree of the Empress Elizaveta Petrovna on the initiative of the great Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov. The day of Moscow University's foundation is celebrated as the Student's Day in Russia. The Lomonosov Moscow State University is a self-governing university. Its Statute is worked out and confirmed by the Scientific Council. Currently there are 22 faculties - of Mechanics and Mathematics, Calculational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, Geography, Soil Science, Fundamental Medicine, History, Philology, Philosophy, Foreign Languages, Economics, Journalism, Law, Psychology, Sociology, Institute of Asian and African Studies, Institute of Public Administration and Social Studies, Higher College of Materials Sciences, Center for International Education. In the last few years a number of rapidly evolving, quality branches of education have been set up in the University, preparing advanced specialists for trends in Russia and the work today. The result is the most extensive offering of post-graduate and post-doctoral courses in the country.

You should know Russian at an adequate level, you should be prepared for extreme bureaucracy, long winters and sometimes unfriendly people! But you can expect having a great time of your life if you cope with the characteristics of this special country! FINAL COMMENTS
You should try to find a community of Russians and internationals, but you should preferably speak Russian with both groups. Especially internationals you should choose very carefully, as there are many foreigers in Russia who think they are better than Russians and are not disposed to cope with Russian (inconvenient) characteristics. But if you just meet such people you won't experience this fantastic country. If you have some time left you should try to find an internship in Russia as it gives you the chance to collect some (Russian) work experience! I truly believe that my experience in Russia changed my life. Don't bring traveller's cheques Have an open mind Learn the alphabet, and have fun learning the language! Maximize your time, and see it all if you can. If you can, stay a minimum of 1 month. Going for 2 weeks just doesn't capture the true essence of what the experience of Russia is about. try to profit from traveling around Russia, it doesn't cost much espesially in the train and leaves a life long memories. Explore Trans Siberian Railroad and go up to lake Baikal area.
