Be sure to 'shop around' in the beginning. There are great number of courses and you want to make sure you choose the best ones. All modules dont offer seminars paralell to lectures so be sure to find out which because seminars will help you considerably in your studies.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Most modules have midterm exams which is a bit of a hassle if you also have a lot of essays to submit. But then again, the exams are really easy - reminded me of the type of exams I had in Upper Secondary School.. The essays however will require a fair share of time - especially if you are pursuing those A's! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

very hands-on, profs like to directly interact with students and involve them in discussions continuous assessment through essays, papers, group projects, presentations etc., really annoying for continental-European students not used to this form of assessment no blocked seminars since exchange students get the same treatment as regular students

My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
I couldn't answer question 3 proper, because I'm still right in the middle of the exchange. But I must say that I like the essays and projects during the courses. The same is true for the exams. I think that students are more focused when exams and essays are given during the course instead of at the end This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Wished the teachers had been more objective and clearer with their markings and evaluations, particular to international students who may have different grading systems.

If you do an MBA exchange at McGill the wise thing when choosing courses is the following list: 1. choose 4-5 courses in advance according to the instructions on the web or the material from the faculty 2. Go "shopping" for both the chosen courses and other courses that interest you. During the first two weeks you can make necessary changes free of charge and pick the courses that you really like.

In law, few options. Choose speciality courses over more general courses as they will be given by experts.

Students should interact on substantial matters and not about fizzy philosophical stuff in order to "distinguish" themselves and show their incredible knowledge. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
