Our room was an en-suite apartment with 4 single rooms and 4 bathrooms. I had a private room with bathroom and it was great! We had a kitchen and common room with TV, which was a definite plus. It is close to campus but far from town (about a 15 to 20 minute walk.) However it was worth it because I never thought I would have a single. And it was easy to cook in the rooms, which saved money.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I'm actually living in Galway again at present. The on-campus accommodation was far too expensive and I needed a change. I'm happier now living in a lovely apartment in the town centre! It's better value for money

even if it was way too dear, I have great memories of the months I stayed there. It gave me the oportunity to live with Irish people and also to make great friends. i don't regret having chosen that accommodation in the first place. But a year is enough, I think.

Why?
I loved the independence of living in an apartment, though in the future I would try to look for accommodation further in advance of my arrival so that I could have had a better chance of finding Irish roommates.

I heard very bad things about the University accommodations, which is why I steered clear of there.

I do not know because I did not live at campus, but I could see some friends'houses in the campus and I did not like them, they were not so comfortable as the normal houses.

It was great. Coming from a residence hall at a state university in the US, this was heavenly. It was very utilitarian, but I had more space than back home.

The on campus "Corrib Village" apartments are not very good, not very close, and very strict. I am glad I did not live there.
