The Singapore Government announced that the University of Singapore and Nanyang University would be merged to form a new institution of higher learning to be known as the National University of Singapore. The National University of Singapore began operations on 7 July 1980.

Their is a bit of a divide between local and exchange students, as local students mostly think exchange students are not serious about work and are only here to travel.

I wasn't used to an American-like academic system but i think it's more efficient and fair In Italy we are expected to study much more deeply the text book and learn almost at memory mainly on theoretical basis.
