If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I lived first at campus but I chose to move to an apartment with another exchange-student because we wanted to have more of a home-feeling and our own kitchen and bathroom. I was very happy with our cosy little apartment!
Personal comments:
Campus was fine, too! It´s easy to meet lot of other students in there. Our room was newly renovated and clean and there was internet-access in another room in a corridor. There was some noice on disco-nights though (Mon&Wed). There were some language problems with the stuff because they didn´t speak English, but there were always some helpful Hungarian students who would translate! Hard Rak cafe was a nice place to be, just like the Pek (besides the collegium). Note that this is only fun when there are students, so when the courses are. In summer there is nothing to do and the Pek is closed half of the year. We went to the Buso festival in Mohacs in March which was really great (a kind of carnaval) And travel to the country!! Course recommendations:
Some courses I chose were not offered. Because I don't study economics at home not all the courses offered by the BABA programme were that interesting to me. I was lucky that I could participate in courses offered at the International Studies Centre, the courses were interesting, but the level could have been higher.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
the services for students could be better, like the amount of working computers for example and the printing and copy facilities. But I know I must take into account that I was in Hungary, and that it is logical that not all the things are as new as they are back home. But is was sometimes pretty annoying sitting behind the computer and waiting for half an hour before you can send some emails. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I did not have many languages problems because you can always make yourself clear with body language. But sometimes it took a while. I am happy that I learned some Hungarian, when I travelled through north-east hungary it was very useful because many people only speak hungarian. When you are abroad it is much easier to travel to the neighbour countries. Back home I can't travel like I did in Hungary. The reason why I spent in total more money than I spent at home is mainly because of travelling, but also because you have more costs (you don't go to your parents for a weekend), and because the country is so cheep you are going to spent more, sounds paradoxal but it is true. You are going out for dinner more often, and because you don't have the obligations you should have at home you have more time to do things (like travelling and going out, but the beer is so cheap that you spend less than you should do at home) Food, Travel, Overall: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home. Nightlife, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
we bought our pots and pans new at the sundaymorning market and it was not that difficult to find the cheapest stuff. I opened a bank account in pecs because otherwise I had two pay two dollars each time when I should draw money from a cash machine, and in half a year that can be a lot! So I think I saved money on doing that, but you need to find somebody who speaks hungarian to go with you, but that was not a problem. Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I was prepared for going to an east european country, so I knew what to expect (I did not have high expectations for accomodation and facilities), but I was surprised for what we got! It was above my expectations. Be flexible and see everything as a big adventure, then I am sure you will have a lot of fun! In my opinion:

Personal recommendation:
I liked Pecs a lot, it is really a beautiful town, especially when it becomes spring and summer, the country is so beautiful then! And because it is situated in the south you have easy access to Croatia, which is a totally different country. Oh take toiletpaper with you to hungary because many places don't have and prepare yourself that the toilets don't have lockers, which is really annoying at the beginning but everything gets familiar... FINAL COMMENTS
Travel tips: I went to Plitvice in Croatia (it is a national park, really beautiful any time of the year), we crossed war area which was pretty impressive. Transsylvania (roemenia) is great too, but you need a visa for that. But don't forget to take a look around in Hungary as well, Budapest, lake Balaton, Eger, the puszta are definately worth a visit. What impressed me as well, but you have to like it, was the communist town Ajka, Near lake balaton, build by the russians and now half of the fabrics are closed, you can see the results of fourthy years of communism. I went there with a friend who lived there and he showed me the fabrics and the lakes, they were so blue, incredible, but the lakes were heavily poisened by chemicals, it was chemical blue, and the area had a radio-activity of 5,8 so beware..
