Technische Universität Darmstadt review by miriam
HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Because it is the best way to meet new people
Personal comments:
I think that the accomodation is quite good in this university, perhaps not very clean, but that depends on the own students. There are several kinds of residence, in my case, i had to do interviews in order to be "accepted" in a student appartment. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
If you come to Darmstadt, you maybe like to visite some interesting architectural buildings like Mathildenhoehe, or "Waldspiral" made by Hundert Wasser. If you want to spend some hours in a nice coffe, i recomend you to go to Café Chaos, Kuk or Central Station. At night i will suggest you to drive to Heilderberg (30 min.) or Frankfurt (15 min.), Darmstadt is a little boring. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Other sources of funding:
Family my own money Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
In german the students receive many helps from the goverments, and it is really cheap to study in german. For example the travelling cost inside the region are included in the university cost 100 €/semester. Accomodation is also very cheap, about 200€/month. Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Food, Nightlife, Overall: was the same price as at home. Travel, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
