Description:
The American University of Rome is a four-year degree granting institution offering Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. We also have an extensive semester, summer and year abroad programs, which allow students from throughout the world to come to Rome and experience the culture and history of this captivating ancient city. The university occupies a nineteenth century classical villa on top of the Janiculum Hill, the highest hill within the walls of Rome. We take advantage of our location offering students the opportunity to study art, architecture, business, education, Italian culture and civilization on location with our outstanding professors.

If returning, I would choose: find my own apartment in rome
Why? the university housing is overpriced. they tell your apartment is going to be 2 to 3 bedrooms with other students with kitchen bathroom living room, and they place you in a tiny studio apartment. like a cave. but some students get placed in the big one, for the same priced that i paid for. terrible service and just wrong.

the housing was small over priced. im italian and was raised in italy, and apartments do not cost that much in rome. i lived right next to san pietro. i could see the pope, and i had a beautiful 3 bedroom apart with 3 roomates, kitchen, family room, and bathroom, and payed nearly nothing compared to the universitys housing price. they lie to you, and take advantage of students who come from other countries to study at there school. beware and make sure they put you in the housing you request for. dont go to the studio apartment. its terrible. the area is nice, but its just wrong to place students in a cave like room for that price. No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
the univeristy is very disorganized in there office. there housing director is rude, and takes forever to contact you. maybe cause he knows he was wrong to place students in a crappy apartment for the price they pay. with that money i could of rented a nice apartment on my own near the spanish steps. and dont tell me no, cause my friends mother is a real estate agent, and she rents and sells homes. i trusted the university to take care of this for me, i chose the housing so i could be with other students and make friends. i wouldnt mind living with 4 or more students. i wanted to experience the college life, but i do not want to be taken advantage of when it comes to money. if you dont like your housing, speak up, dont let them fool you. dont be afraid to talk, and be takin advantage of. you should not have to be placed in a small cave apartment for all that money. housing rips u off...way too much!!!! Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone: was the same price as at home.

i ended up not going to the school because of the housing....because of them i lost time out of school, got stressed out, and they treated me poorly, all because there afraid of getting a bad name. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
