Personal comments
It is obvious that after one year as an Erasmus student I have improved my language and communication skills considerably. My english was good when I came to The Netherlands, but after my international study experience in this country I have no problems at all in any areas to speak in english. There are many factors that have helped me to improve my english. First of all I had all my courses in english in Tilburg University, I could learn a lot in all the classes and I had to study all the courses in english. Being surrounded by international people was also an important factor to improve my english. The Netherlands and Tilburg University have helped me to improve my communication and personal skills: I learnt more not only about english but also about other many cultures, and I am sure that all this can help me in my future professional career.

Personal spending habits
First of all, I spent more money in phone calls because I used to call my family that was abroad in Spain. Secondly, I also spent more money travelling because I was in a foreign country and I used to travel around during the weekend to visit the different cities in The Netherlands, and I also travelled to other countries on holidays.

Final comments
I can say one clear thing about my Eramsmus experience in The Netherlands: It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I learnt in all the senses: I became familiar with another cultures, I have improved my english and my languages skills, I am better in communication, I am more independent. I have acquired the knowledge to work in a different country, I have had a very satisfactory experiences and I have learnt a lot about dutch society and dutch culture. I recommend to go abroad to study to another country because you can improve in all the senses and it is good for your future career. I would go again.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Because it was a really good experience for me to live in that area with other international students. I was next to Tilburg University and that was also a big advantage for all the students that live on the campus.

It was really good. I was living with another sixteen people from different parts of the world and the experience could not be better. We had our own room and a common kitchen, two bathrooms and three showers. Every week one employee came to clean the kitchen and the bathrooms. And if we had any problem with the facilities in our place (e.g. if the light did not work) we could ask help to the caretaker who was really hepful.

In the city town you have lots of things to do. You can go to many places to meet with friends. We used to go to a pub in the centre called Lamme Goedzak, where all the Erasmus parties were organised; there we met all the international people. We also went to the Cafe Bolle, to the Cafe Philip and many other pubs next to them in the centre of Tilburg. The ESN Tilburg could not be better, they organised really good events and parties for the Erasmus students. It was a great experience in a great city where I could learn more about the dutch culture and about many other cultures.
