Course recommendations
Take in mind that local language is not spanish but Catalan, so if you plan to attend the UAB it will happen to you as it was for me that you will have classes in catalan; this may be shocking, but you will see that teachers will try (at least some of them( to help. BUt do not ask them to make the class in spanish; since their language is catalan. Just try to see if you can pick only classes that are given in spanish, check this out before you start the course: go to see the professors and ask them.

The most relevant problem to international students is the catalan language; is your own choice if you choose to be in Barcelona you have to deal woith it; personally I end up writing my tesis on Catalan culture, and to me it wa very interesting; I also lived in Barcelona during 3 additional years so catalan identity is something I had to learn.

as I said in Cataluna there are two languages you have to deal with; local language is catalan which is pretty different from spanish; you do not have to learn catalan, but you will probably have some problems with it; but is worth the city.

Personal recommendation
I would choose another one beacuse this is far from BCN and because here catalan language is more used then in other universities; beside this I have to say that some teachers were very nice and helpfull

Good courses organized by the Generalitat de Catalunia, and very cheap; houses: avoid people living on that: try to share your places with someone who is not making moneybon renting out rooms;

I had to look for a place by myself, so I cannot give any opinion on housing at this university; anyway I suggest to everybody who wants to go to the UAB not to choose housing in the campus because is far from the city (barcelona) and you would not enjoy living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world

Barcelona is the best place to be; there are plenty of amazing places; I can give advice on the places to be avoided: Mare Magnum.
