Best café : El Buo Real, cerca de la calle Hortaleza. Try the "orgasmo de monja !" Museums such as Reina Sofia's and the Prado (especially Goya's terrifying "Periodo negro") are worth the trip.

You're treated more like a pupil than like a grown-up student : they check if you REALLY go to all the classes, they test you all the time... "Big Brother" can be a real pain in the neck sometimes

Personal recommendation
ICADE has a good reputation in the Spanish-speaking world (that must be around 1 billion people !), so it's great if you plan to work in one of these countries. But its rules are sligtly outdated, maybe because it's a Roman catholic institution. If you're a marxist, go somewhere else : the teaching has a strong right-wing political orientation.

Final comments
Try to find accomodation in the city centre, the best thing is to share a flat with other students.
