Personal spending habits
The prices in the Czech Republic and Spain differ a lot, first reason is the different currency and the overall pricing in both countries. Also especially some of the services were much more expensive than in Czech Republic. I also travelled a lot to enjoy the country as much as possible and while in Czech Republic we have a lot of discounts for students and very available net of trains all over the country, Spain was another case. But all of it was worth the extra cost.

the supermarket DANI - they had an amazing offer of fresh fruits and vegetables and everything was very cheap. We also shared meals and cooked together with flatmates and friends, which was a big help.

Final comments
If you like kite surfing, then Tarifa is the Mekka of Andalucia for you, it is some 2,5 hours from Granada and the atmosphere is great and the winds always blow there. Granada is definitely worth visiting, it has an amazing vibe and the city is very beautiful and lively. Moreover the Universidad de Granada is very welcoming to the international students and has a great offer of courses and other academic events and conferences. Professors are also very open to discussion and always there if you need an advise. I conducted investigation for my thesis here and I really benefited from a great library the University had and also advices of the professors.

Academic
Course recommendations
I took four couses during the first semester: Política Árabe, Antropologia Política, Seguridad y Defensa and Comunicacion Política. I also sat in the classes of Arabic. I loved every one of my classes and really liked the attitude of the professors. There was a lot of interaction during the classes and we were asked to voice our oppinion, which was great not only for our understanding of the subject, but also for our Spanish. Regular preparation for classes was necessary, but definitely worth it.

Interaction with local students
Personal comments
The only thing was, that because of the high number of international students, the interaction with the local students was not that intensive. However we managed to conduct all of our conversations in Spanish, even with the international students, which was a great thing. All the courses were conducted in Spanish and I would not change this.

Personal comments
I lived in Spain before my Erasmus for couple months, so I handled well everyday situations, but my Spanish really improved especially thanks to all the readings and discussions we had on the University, but also because of the rich social life I had in my free time.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I shared a flat with Spaniards and experienced a lot of their culture by living with them. It was also excellent for my Spanish, since I had to speak Spanish all the time.

Personal comments
Universidad de Granada did offer some kind of housing in student dorms, but it was very expensive and also majority of people just searched for a room/apartment by themselves. Finding place on my own was also much cheaper and I could find very nice location.

La Tertulia - an amazing local bar with frequent events - music performances, public readings of local authors, tango nights Mirador de San Nicolas - place with the most amazing vista over the city, located in the old city quarter Albaicin, every day full of flamenco singers and guitar players and with the breath-taking view over Alhambra, it was my favorite place to go to, sit down, read or just enjoy the atmosphere.
