el barrio húmedo, sure, but there are also nice bars in other areas, such as near the art museum, where are less students.

hmmm... a students residence is more expensive, but one can meet many local people. A flat is cheaper and one is more independent.

mobile phone is terribly expensive, food you can get cheap if you compare the prices well. there are many no-brand products that offer a good quality for a low price. however, some supermarket's brands are good in juice&water (e.g. arbol), others in other stuff (e.g. froiz in bread), you should check the competing products. quite different qualities.
