Description:
The University of Santiago de Compostela commemorated the 500th anniversary of its founding in 1995. This institution, which maintains one of the most important academic traditions in Europe, was established as a "Grammatic Academy " as early as 1495 by Don Lope Gómez de Marzoa.
Nowadays, the University of Santiago is organised into two campuses: one is
located in Compostela and the other in Lugo (the two thousand-year-old town
named " Lucus Augusta " after Augustus, the Roman emperor).

So many bars, just walk in the 'zona vieja' and choose the overcrowded ones! So many cafés just walk in the zona vieja Events in la plaza del obradoiro or in la quintana (concerts,dances...)the magostos (november),the Nunca Mais political manifestation, San Juan (june), and all the festivals 'cortosmetraxes' (cine, july), en pé de pedra (june), the 25th of July is Saint James look at the sky!!And visit all Galicia it's beautiful!!! The historic part of the city is wonderful, especially at night: it's full of pubs (1/40 inhabitants), full of young people, full of life. By day it's interessant to visit celtic remains: Castro Barońa, cerca de Noia (w/bus); "Pico Sacro", from where you have a wide view on all the galician lands; and the "Parque Natural Dunas de Corrubedo", Corrubedo, where you can also bath and stay on the wonderful beach. The old part of the city is full of great hang-outs, the new part is for discos. There are SO many places that I didn't have time visit them all during 5 months (believe me, I tried) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
