HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Housing off campus is cheap and the rules in the dorms are SUPER strict.
Personal comments:
You'll have a lot more freedom in your own apartment. Fortuntely I got along with my Mexican room mates really well. There were 7 of them in total. The washer/dryer was great to have, even if extravagant. There was also a biweekly maid service. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
Lots of bars outside of campus. They go in and out of business so quick that it doesn't pay to share names. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
If your spanish is decent enough for real university classes, you will have lots of options. Otherwise, there are a few english classes and a bunch of dreadful language classes.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Class quality will depend on your professor, but doesn't it always? All in all, it was a relaxed semester. Lots of the reading was in English even though I was taking universtity level courses. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
Verbally I improved greatly. I still can't write and reading is tougher than it should be. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

None Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work Personal spending habits:
Food is cheaper, but I ate out all the time. Same goes with nightlife and housing. I never called home (used email) so I didn't incur that expense. Food, Travel, Nightlife: was more expensive than at home. Overall: was the same price as at home. Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Central Mexico is chilly. Bring a few sweaters. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It's a great time. Lots of Europeans around, which is great fun, but may effect your Spanish studies. FINAL COMMENTS
If you want to see the Yucutan peninsula, be aware that you will be VERY far away. Never fear, there is pleny else to see (i.e. the beaches of Oaxaca). This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
