Course recommendations:
Fantastic but very demanding Italian literature and linguistic courses! Prof. Massimo Fanfani (linguistics) is great speaks slowly and is very helpful! Avoid English literature classes with a certain Pugliati - dreadful pronunciation and unfair! Talk to your teachers - they are very helpful and definitely want to pass you! Classes last the whole year - try to take mid-term exams whenever possible.

The libraries are a desaster! There are very little computers on the campus. (Try Via Alfani - for law students only but open till 11 p.m.). And please pleas get an air condition - the heat in summer kills you! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Course recommendations:
It was VERY different from the American University system, but this is one of the things that made me learn so much. You make of it what you can, and if you chose not to interact with teachers and other students, then you certainly aren't encouraged to. If you do chose to, however, you benefit. In these courses I did learn an incredible amount about the subject matter, which was very gratifying.

Course recommendations:
Attend to class, learn better the language and the exam is diferent. Don't be nerve about the oral exam if haven't done one before!! There're 3 different dates to take the same exam

Talk to local students about the classes and professors. It is a challenge but one you will remember and be proud of forever if you work really hard to get it.

My university was very outdated. The did not have computers or any kind of special kind of technology. It basically you and the books (which were sometimes over 100 years old), but I fell in love with it. It made studying so much more meaningful and special. Course recommendations:
If you can, take your courses in your native language unless you're fluent in Italian. Don't worry about picking up Italian, that will come socially and in a language course. Taking your classes in Italian is a bad move, the local students didn't want to help, and the teachers don't really take pity either.

The assesment process is wildly unfair, there's no invigilation, you do your exam orally with your tutor (who has no knwoledge of who you are, as your classes are so large), and you are subject to whatever mood he/she is in. There's no appeals process, and because the exams are done in front of the whole class, everyone is witness to your failure, or indeed victory. Can be quite embarrassing! Well, to be honest, I didn't take any courses, I did an internship in the Careggi hospital, maybe that's why I didn't have much contact with other students...
