Università degli Studi di Padova
University of Padova, Via Riviera Tito Livio 6, 35122 Padova, Italy, Padua
Description:
The Università degli Studi di Padova is the second oldest University in Italy and its traditional name is "il Bo", i.e. "the Ox". Our relationships with other academic Institutions and Research Centres the whole world over, from America to China and Australia, are extremely active through exchange of professors, information and publications. The University is in a phase of expansion and is looking at smaller towns nearby as sites for future initiatives (development of a polycentric University). Many of the students come daily to Padova from neighbouring villages and towns.

HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Huge advantage in meeting natives and fellow erasmus students
Personal comments:
Very satisfied with housing services, especially in cost, and its main advantage was the ease of meeting people. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
There are very few nightclubs in Padova and the ones there are are not particularly good, however on the erasmus nights were always good, banale and Fishmarket namely. All the cafes and restaurants around the arts buildings were studenty and cheap. Best pizza in town: at medina. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
The lectures were overcrowded, there was no interactions with teachers at all, which I wasnt used to, oral exams were not a particularly effective assessment, my research essays which i sent home to my home university were much more useful to me. EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Other sources of funding:
Family Government assistance An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Travel, spent more because took opportunity to travel more than would at home but actual prices of flights/trains are cheaper Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Food, Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Bank accounts cost money: monthly and everytime you get cash out, so having an italian bank account was not a viable option. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
