Was learning Italian a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Italian How much did you improve your Italian?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) Personal comments:
Before I didn't understand a word italian. The first three weeks I followed a language course and there I got to learn the basis. When the exams started I also got to learn 'economic' italian. After I returnd I think I can say that I improved a lot! Now I plan to improve my italian further, after all it's one of the most beautiful languages in the world, isn't it?! I wish my Italian was as good now as it was when I came back. I learned so much, and I was always on buses, journeying to other nearby towns in order to envelope myself in the language and culture...ot was absolutely the best way to learn Italian. At first it was very difficult, as Arezzo is not a very ´studenty´ town, and so living with other English students, I did not get the chance to practice my Italian properly for some time. However, once I eventually made friends with the locals my level improved dramatically. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I spent a number of years as a child in Italy, Italian is very close to a mother tongue for me. I speak Roman dialect. No-one ever knows I'm American until I tell them. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Good language courses at the Università per Stranieri, especially for ERASMUS students. Moreover possibility to have a "Tandem" partner. There is also an advantage if you live with Italians in a flat. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
