HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Many flats are available in City Centre.
On Campus accomodation is out of town and public transport stops running quite early.
Rented accomodation allows more independence and the cost is about the same.
Personal comments:
Univesity accomodation is quite far from city centre. Cost wise it is cheaper but the difference isn't great! Some flats they offer are in a relatively dangerous area - a friend of mine got mugged by his flat This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
CAfe Notre Dame...I was the manager Couche Tard Pub -great place v. international, I worked there London Pub- Also good for a laugh Vieux Manoir(Club)- You'll end up there most nights Vertigo (Club)- expensive Shithole in the city centre! The bigger clubs are out of town! I recommend La Choue (for the experience) Don't miss the arrival of the Nouveau Beaujolais! Great trip offered into the region with an all night drinking spree! My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
I studied at the Ecole Superieure de Affaires. The courses are great but beware as teachers will give more attention to local students as they have worked hard to get there! Particularly good courses: International business, COmputing courses, consumer behaviour
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
If you go to ESA work hard as it is an exceptional business school which is well recognised! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your French?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
You will find that you interact mainly with other foreign students. Make an effort to meet local students and you will learn more. Alternatively get involved in activities outside the university. Eg. I played rugby for a local club and got a job in a bar This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Other Other sources of funding:
Family An ERASMUS grant Part time work Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
Accomodation can be subsidised by local government. Travel is cheaper and you get good rail and tram discounts with a student/12-25 card Food, Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Look out for deposits on flats and make sure you get them back!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
How to set up bank accounts. More info on accomodation, all the paperwork needed and that I needed 1000 photos!!! In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
If you can go to ESA (business school part of UPMF) then do it and work hard. It can help you a lot! FINAL COMMENTS
Make sure you take photos. Get some form of insurance once you are out there. To translate your birth certificate (you will need it) you cna have it done over there at a service called ADATE in Grenoble This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
