Université Pierre et Marie Curie: Paris VI

Université Pierre et Marie Curie: Paris VI, 4 place Jussieu, 75005 Paris, France
3.91 / 5 based on 24 reviews.
Description:
Built in the sixties on the very place of the wine market of Paris, the campus Jussieu has to symbolize according to Dean Zamansky's word « The materialization of the scientific thought in the heart of Paris » . The Faculty of Sciences assures, right into the Latin Quarter « the intellectual and spritual perennity of the long standing past of the Paris university ».
Since 1968, the Faculty of science has been divided into several universities. Created in 1971, Paris 6, its principal heir, shares the campus Jussieu with University Paris 7 and the Institute of Physics of the Earth.
In 1974, University Paris 6 put itself under a prestigious parainage in adopting the official name "University Pierre et Marie Curie". It is eager to perpetuate the scientific heritage of these prestigious predecessors.
Today, this largest scientific and medical complex in France maintains in every domain of scientific research an intellectual aura at the highest level, proved by the numerous prizes and medals awarded to its research teams as well as the multiple international cooperations pertained on the five continents.

Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? It was very interesting living in the same building with people from all over Europe.
Personal comments:
The only complaint I had was the lack of a personal phone line, but this is issue has already been dealt with for all the buildings in the Paris University campus.

One should perform a little survey before opening an account; there are substantial differences between the various banks. Buy Pariscope and Paris Pratique the moment you arrive at the airport!
