Personal comments
My friend stayed at the Cité (Student accomodation) Paul Appèl. It was kind of creepy and the room was really small. There were only two showers and two (working) toilets for 20 people. And the kitchen wasn't worth his name... There was a lot of noise. There was no doorbell, so everyone yelled or wistled.

Academic
Course recommendations
if you only stay half a year, it is hard to find interesting courses. The courses provide no textbook, you should take notes and learn to do that quickly by using abreviations.

I only stayed 5 months and it was after those 5 months that my french was really improving, it was a pity that I had to leave again. I feel that my french could have been much better if I had chosen to stay for the full year!

I wish I had known...
Try to meet locals as well, because foreign students tend to hang out together all the time.

They didn't expect us to be so many, so the tutor was really stressed all the time. There was only one internet-computer.
