Founded in 1817, the University of Liège is the only public Community-sponsored university in the French-speaking part of Belgium which offers a complete range of university courses at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. Personal comments:
The U. liege arranged free accommodation which was great ! The dormitories itself where a bit old but had a lot of facilities. The only drawback was having to share a toilet in the main floor !

The carré, a place full of small pub with a really good environment. I'll never miss Anvers and Maastricht, are really beautiful cities for turism and people is so nice, besides the night life is cool.

I think that overall we you arrive, It would be so good to provide the notes to international students, because we you arrive and you do not know the language, is impossible to get notes, then would be fantastic to have the possibility of get these notes.

My level before: Did not speak it
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
When I arrived, I didn't speak french, and I have been speaking english for 3 months as myt only one tool for speak and understand, in Belgium is fantastic because every body speak english. After, I finished my first course of french and knew a little bit more and learning every day a little bit when I finished I was able to have a fluent conversation and understand every thing.

Personal spending habits:
Because the food is more expensive, in relation with telephone I spent less because my friends of Spain and my family they telephoned me always. In accommodation more because in Spain I live with my family. In nightlife the same more or less. I travel i spent more because Belgium is so near of a lot of beautiful places that I wanted to visit and was my opportunity of do it. Overall the expenses are important, besides the Erasmus grand is not very high.
Food, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Travel, Telephone: was less expensive than at home.

I wish I had known...
Don't listen who say that Liège is a awful,grey town.you can find something beauty even here,if you want.You have to be open, tou have to be happy! P.S read Pedigree, La danseuse du Gai Moulain,Le pendu de Saint-Pholien,Les trois crimes des mes amis by Georges Simenon.He is born in Liège and these novels are located in this town.

FINAL COMMENTS

When you arrived make the go-pass:is a cheap train tiket with 8 travel within Belgium. Surely, you will use it! It's a great chance to travel, know peaple, become more tolerant,have fun and the worst thing is when you leave...
