HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It's cheapest. Everybody does. Get to know a lot of people!
Personal comments:
If you choose for a residence, you pay a lot more and it's more difficult to get to know people. The majority of local and foreign students share flats. IMPORTANT: there are flats enough (especially in september). Don't get stressed if you don't have a flat after 5 days. Don't take the first flat you can get. Don't be afraid to spend 3 days longer in your youth hostel; you'll probably find better/cheaper flat! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Don't miss Las Fallas. Discover Barrio Carmen, plaza Xuquer... Nightlife is "Spanish", and not so "cosmopolitic" as in BCN, what can be an advantage! Large drum'n'bass scene in VLC. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Very good university. Perfectly prepared to receive dozens of erasmus students. Good contact with teachers.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
I was treated as a local student - not more not less. Good academic level. Many courses were evaluated on basis of a project work. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
Learn Spanish before going! You'll need it to find a flat (locals don't like speaking in English) and all lessons were in Spanish. Some people speak Valenciano (similar to Catalan), but that does nog give problems. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Other sources of funding:
Family Government assistance Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work Personal spending habits:
I travelled more, did more "extraordinary" things. But in general life was cheap! Nightlife: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home. Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Money transfer from Belgium to Spain is free. NO fee for cash withdrawel from money dispensers (from belgian account). Cash dispensers on the corner of every street. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
