Ramon Llull University is named after Ramon Llull, a famous writer and philosopher born in the 13th century. Despite its relative infancy compared to other universities, it is already considered to be one of the best private universities in Spain. Why? Living with native speakers not only enhanced my language skills but my overall experience. My roomates - 4 spanish students - were extremely helpful in showing me around and helping me settle in and adjust.

The cost of lving is more in the U.S. so housing and general costs were lower - also the exchange rate is very good right now!
Food, Travel, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was less expensive than at home.

No financial surprises. It costs a lot less to live in an apt versus in the University Residence.

The significance of the Catalan language and that everything is written in this language - street signs, menus, directions, etc. - and not in Castellano.
