HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because you feel free to organize your day after the classes (only 10 hours a week!), and you can share the accommodation with nice foreign students, if you're lucky.
Personal comments:
The accommodations at the University had a bad reputation, people living in were complaining and especially it is too artificial, I think you can't feel at home in this kind of accomodation.

Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
I think Bhirmingham is not the best place to have fun, but you can still enjoy places as CIRCO. Indeed, it's quite difficult to find quite places in order to chill out peacefully. Generally there are huge bars with beer and speakers vomitting decibels, beuh...all along Broad street, the artificial district!

I wish I had known...
Yes! The HUGE problem with the fact of going abroad the last year of your studies is that, contrary to your friends who stayed at the home University, you can't choose options and don't specialized yourself. As a matter of fact, when you come back to your country, you feel that you haven't learnt anything by doing basic subjects in another language. It's make the things more complicated when you have to apply to more specialized studies (DESS).
In my opinion:
Most people loved it.

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
To enhance the communication within english and international students, even if it means in some cases to educate some english students who seem narrow-minded.
