Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Campus accomodation is getting more and more expensive year by year. We are talking about $800/month !
Personal comments:
It is great, located in the forest, up the hill - 10 minutes from the beach. Spacious, but is getting more and more expensive year by year. We are talking about $800/month !

Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Well, downtown Santa Cruz, I guess. There is the main street called Pacific avenue. Most nightclubs, cinemas and cafes are there. Other than that, nothing else special.

Personal comments:
Great communication in English. Americans are friendly and speak a lot to strangers. If you want to learn English is a great place to come. Many literature programmes offered here as well.
