HOUSING
by Jean-François, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium
International Relations, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I had the opportunity to share the appartment with 6 native English speakers, while most students who rented an accomodation on campus were living with other Erasmus students. I believe that my choice was the best way to improve my language skills and to be close with natives.
Personal comments:
The university was very helpful to provide informations regarding student accomodations, even private ones. According to my own experience, I would recommend candidates to hire a private accomodation, that mostly proved cheaper. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Campus life is great for a first year student, but after that you want to be more independent.
Personal comments:
Great to have a bathroom of your own! Bad that the kitchen only had a micro wave owen and that we had to eat in the canteen. Found it too expensive, but it was nice that they change your beddings every week. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I enjoyed the housemates that I ended up living with and since I am not a first year student, this was definitely a better arrangement than living in the halls. I lived in a non-student neighbourhood and still had all the conveniences of living near to practically everything.

HOUSING
by Kannie, University of North Carolina, Greensboro, Greensboro, United States
History/French, University Agreement
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Non traditional Uni owned housing
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: rivately owned accomadation
Why? Private accomadation-if you can get what you want/need can be cheaper. But if you need to be close to the university due to any difficukties with special needs Taylor court is is ideal. You Share a Kitxhen but have your own room with a private Bath.
Personal comments:
Ocassionally, there are difficulties in getting repairs made,if needed. This is due to a lot of restructuringand cut backs in stsff but if you advise the cleaners who come in to clean coommon areas, they can report it for you or rereport it if needed. If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Newer and better equipped housing.
Personal comments:
University has bought a great number of houses around the main campus and converted them into student accommodation. Great, because it's right next to the campus, but it was very, very basic (toilet outside). Good that there were cleaning ladies every day.
