HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why? Staying with a family is a risky matter as you don't really know them until you get there. This is a common thought many people have when it comes to choosing their accomodation abroad. So far, I've never been unlucky. My family was so overwhelmingly friendly and cared a lot about me which made my stay un unforgettable experience. I would immediately do it again. The advantages of this sort of accomodations always outweighs the disadvantages: You get a real insight of life in another country and really get the feeling of beonging to your new place instead of just being a "foreigner".

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. How much did you improve your English?
My level before: My level after: Personal comments:
I had plenty of opportunities to practice my English in a variety of situations, such as discussion classes, doing seminar presentations or working in a team on a group project. There was of course a lot of chatting in my host family aswell ;-) Therefore, my overall language experience could have hardly been any better! EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
None Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Being in Australia, you want to see and do as much as possible, which makes you spend more on e.g. travel expenses than you would do at home. Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food, Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Pricing in Australia is pretty reasonable. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
