I had plenty of opportunities to practice my English in a variety of situations, such as discussion classes, doing seminar presentations or working in a team on a group project. There was of course a lot of chatting in my host family aswell ;-)
Therefore, my overall language experience could have hardly been any better!

Why?
Staying with a family is a risky matter as you don't really know them until you get there. This is a common thought many people have when it comes to choosing their accomodation abroad. So far, I've never been unlucky. My family was so overwhelmingly friendly and cared a lot about me which made my stay un unforgettable experience. I would immediately do it again. The advantages of this sort of accomodations always outweighs the disadvantages: You get a real insight of life in another country and really get the feeling of beonging to your new place instead of just being a "foreigner".
